The Yamaha V-max is a Japanese motorcycle from the so-called A muscle bikes that was first presented to the general public in 1984 in Las Vegas. Its serial production started a year later and continued until 2007. It was concentrated in the city of Iwata in Japan.
The V-max model has been designed and implemented for production in order to expand the commercial offer of Yamaha Motor Corporation and to acquire as much muscle bikes as possible in the United States and - to a lesser extent - in Western Europe. Unlike many of its competitors, it was powered by a modern 1,198cc 4-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 145hp. The motorcycle competed primarily with a lower price and higher technological advancement of the entire structure. In the first production series, however, it was not free from flaws - criticized especially for weak brakes and too delicate suspension. Over time, however, these errors were corrected. Interestingly, the motorcycle appeared on the Japanese market only in 1990.
