The Statue of Liberty is a gigantic statue located on Liberty Island on the Hudson River in New York City in the United States. The statue was erected in the years 1884-1886, and its designers were: FA Bartholdi, G. Eiffel and RM Hunt. The monument is a symbol of the brotherhood of the nations of the USA and France, as well as a kind of commemoration of the American-French alliance during the US War of Independence (1775-1783). The monument was made of steel and copper, and inside there are two flights of stairs leading to the observation deck. The statue holds a flaming torch in its raised right hand (symbol of freedom), and in its left hand a plaque with the words "July IV MDCCLXXVI", which is the date of the US Declaration of Independence written in Roman numerals. The monument very quickly became a symbol of the prosperity and prosperity of the United States. In 1924, the Statue of Liberty was declared a US National Monument, and in 1984 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
