Star LE 12180 is a modern Polish truck. Its gross vehicle weight is 12,000 kilograms. The drive is provided by a single, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with a power of up to 180 HP. The power transmission is provided by a synchronized 6-speed gearbox. The braking system is based on two-speed disc brakes supported by the ABS system. The production of trucks in Starachowice, producing trucks under the Star brand, dates back to the 1950s. However, at the end of the 1990s, these plants changed hands - the German company MAN. On the other hand, since the end of 2000, the production of new light and medium-sized trucks, equivalent to analogous vehicles of the German manufacturer, was undertaken in reorganized plants. One of such vehicles is the Star LE 12180 vehicle, which is primarily used by the Polish Army. He plays the role of a kind of "work horse" in it, carrying out many prosaic, though important tasks, such as transporting food, small-sized goods or training new drivers of military trucks.
