Jednoosobowy mysliwiec przechwytujacy. Samolot PZL P-24 powsta³ pod kierunkiem Wsiewo³oda Jakimiuka i stanowi³ modyfikacjê my¶liwca PZP P-11 przystosowan± do zabudowania silnika o mocy ok 1000 KM. Pierwszy prototyp z silnikiem Gnome - Rhone 14 Kds zosta³ oblatany miêdzy 24 a 25 maja 1933 r. przez Boles³awa Orliñskiego. 28.06.1934 r. na drugim prototypie pil. Boles³aw Orliñski ustanowi³ ¶wiatowy rekord predkosci dla samolotow mysliwskich z silnikiem gwiazdowym, osiagaj±c predko¶æ 414 km/h. W 1936 otrzymano pierwsze zamówienie z Turcji. Wkrotce P-24 zakupi³y tak¿e Bu³garia, Grecja i Rumunia, która naby³a tak¿e licencje.W 1937 r. opracowano now± wersje P-24. Nowy samolot mia³ silnik GR 14N-07 o mocy 699kW (860 KM), zmianie uleg³a instalacja paliwowa i uk³ad ch³odzenia. Zastosowano now± os³onê silnika i opancerzono kabinê. Nowe samoloty jako pierwsza zakupi³a Grecja w liczbie 25 szt. P-24F uzbrojone w 2 dzialka i 2 k.m. oraz 6 szt. P.24G uzbrojone w 4 k.m. Jednak w czasie u¿ytkowania wszystkie samoloty przezbrojono w 4 k.m. ¯aden P-24 nie zosta³ u¿yty bojowo w Polsce w 1939 r. Jedyny zachowany samolot P-24 znajduje siê obecnie w tureckim muzeum lotnictwa.
The PZL P.24 is a Polish, one-man interceptor with Pu³awski wings, a metal structure with a classic tail and a fixed landing gear. The PZL P-24 aircraft was built under the direction of Wsiewo³od Jakimiuk and was a modification of the PZP P-11 fighter adapted to the installation of an engine with a power of approx. 1000 HP. The first prototype with a Gnome engine - the Rhone 14 Kds was flown between May 24 and 25, 1933 by Boles³aw Orliñski. In 1936, the first order was received from Turkey. Soon the P-24s were also purchased by Bulgaria, Greece and Romania, which also acquired a license. In 1937, a new version of the P-24 was developed. The new plane had an 860 HP GR 14N-07 engine, the fuel system and the cooling system were changed. A new engine cover was used and the cabin was armored. Greece was the first to buy the new planes in the number of 25 P-24Fs, armed with 2 cannons and 2 km, and 6 P.24Gs, armed with 4 kms. Poland in 1939. The only surviving P-24 plane is now in the Turkish aviation museum. Technical data (version P.24G): length: 7.81 m, wingspan: 10.68 m, height: 2.7 m, maximum speed: 430 km / h, rate of climb: 11.1 m / s, maximum ceiling: 10,500 m, range maximum: 700km, weapons: fixed - 4 Colt-Browning machine guns, suspended - up to 40 kg of bombs.
