Nieuport 28 was a single-seat, single-engine, wooden fighter biplane. The truss hull is profiled with wooden slats. Double-girder patches, covered with plywood up to the first girder, and the whole with linen. Ailerons on the lower lobe. The plane was powered by the 170 HP Gnome 9N engine. The plane was armed with two Vickers rifles, which were shifted strongly to the left side of the engine casing. Unfortunately, the plane turned out to be unsuccessful. Its performance did not exceed the previous 1.5-wing aircraft, and the durability also left much to be desired - the rush of air was able to break the cover of the upper lobe! In this situation, France transferred all 297 produced Nieuports 28 to American units, which operated them only until they received SPAD XIII aircraft. The few copies of the Nieuport 28 left after the war were used to film disaster scenes in feature films. Technical data: length: 6.5m, wingspan: 8.16m, height: 2.5m, maximum speed: 198km / h, rate of climb: 4.35m / s, maximum range: 349km, maximum ceiling 5300m, armament: fixed - 2 Vickers 7.7mm machine guns.
