The Shenyang J-6 (another designation: Jian J-6) was a metal-frame fighter in the mid-wing Chinese production. The drive was provided by two Liming-Wopen 6A engines. The first flight of this machine took place in 1958. Serial production was carried out in the years 1958-1986 and led to the production of over 4500 aircraft of this type of all versions. The on-board armament - in the J-6 version - consisted of two 30 mm NR-30 cannons.
The Shenyang J-6 was in fact the licensed version of the MiG-19 aircraft. Despite the fact that the MiG-19 did not serve too long in the USSR air force, it gained greater recognition in the PRC, mainly due to the strong on-board armament, good maneuverability and relatively low production costs. In the course of this production, many development versions of this aircraft were created, for example: J-6A (basic production version, corresponding to the MiG 19P), J-6A II (fighter version capable of operating in all weather conditions), J-6B (version adapted to firing PL-1 missiles, replicas of Soviet AA-1 missiles), JJ-6 (training and combat version) or JZ-6 (reconnaissance version). The Shenyang J-6 aircraft has been exported to many countries, including North Korea, Albania, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq and Pakistan.
