The Harbin H-5 is a Chinese twin-engine bomber that is a license version of the Soviet Il-28. The first batch of the export Il-28 was delivered to the Chinese Air Force in 1952, and its licensed production started in the mid-1960s, marked as Harbin H-5. The first prototype of the Il-28 aircraft, powered by Rolls-Royce Nene engines, was flown on July 8, 1948. The second prototype, powered by Klimov RD-45F engines, took off on December 30, 1948. Finally, after tests carried out in May 1949, the Il-28 defeated the competitive Tu -14 and became the basic bomber of the Soviet armed forces. It was also decided that the power unit of the aircraft will be the Klimov WK-1 engine. Three license versions of the Il-28 were created in China. The first one is the Harbin H-5M, which functions as a bomber. The second is the Harbin HJ-5 which is a training and training machine. Finally, the third version is the Harbin HZ-5, which is a reconnaissance machine modeled on the Soviet Il-28R. Airplanes of all these versions have probably been decommissioned in 2011. Technical data (I³-28): length: 17.56m, wingspan: 21.45m, height: 6.7m, maximum speed: 902km / h, rate of climb: 15m / s, maximum range: 2400km, maximum ceiling: 12300m, armament: fixed - 4 Nudelman cannons, caliber 23 mm, suspended - up to 3000 kg of bombs.
