RMS Queen Elizabeth I. was a British passenger ship, the so-called by ocean liner from the interwar period of World War II and the post-war period. The keel for this vessel was laid in 1936, and the launch took place in 1938. The total length of the vessel at the time of launching was 314.2 meters and a width of 36 meters. The ship's tonnage was approximately 83,700 GRT, and the maximum speed was approximately 29 knots. The unit could take on board a maximum of 2,283 passengers.

RMS Queen Elizabeth I was commissioned by the Cunard shipping line at John Brown and Company in Clydebank. The vessel was unique for several reasons, but most of all went down in history as the largest ever built ocean liner, and until the mid-1990s it held the title of the largest passenger ship in history! However, RMS Queen Elizabeth I began her service, not with civilian cruises, but with the performance of military transport tasks and the transport of soldiers from the USA to Great Britain during World War II. Due to her high speed, the RMS Queen Elizabeth I sailed very often without convoy cover. Fortunately, it survived World War II, and shortly after 1945 it began to perform the tasks for which it was built from the beginning, serving the Southampton-New York sea connection. The unit was decommissioned only in 1969.
