The Ordnance QF 32 pounder (other designations: 32-pdr) is a British 94mm tank and anti-tank (anti-tank) gun from the end of World War II. It was the main armament of the prototype tank (or rather the self-propelled gun) A39 Tortoise. The total weight of the weapon was 2,972 kilograms. It is assumed that the effective range of the shot was about 1250-1300 meters, with a maximum range of 4600 meters. The Ordnance QF 32 pounder gun was developed to replace the successful anti-tank gun. The 76.2 mm QF-17 was created as a far-reaching modernization of the QF 3.7-inch 94 mm anti-aircraft gun. The presented gun was designed to counter heavy and very heavy German vehicles, such as the King's Tiger or Jagdtiger. Thus, it fired various types of anti-tank ammunition, including, in particular, APDS missiles. In the course of field tests carried out in the summer of 1945, it was able to penetrate a 200 mm thick armor plate inclined at an angle of 50 degrees. The gun, however, did not enter mass production, and the QF-17 gun was replaced with the 84 mm QF-20 gun.
